Cities across North America turn to In-Pipe Technology Company when they need an immediate, proven and cost-effective solution to their wastewater challenges. Our patented technology re-engineers the sewer biofilm and economically delivers numerous benefits to wastewater treatment including reductions in operations costs, achievement of compliance standards, odor and corrosion control, FOG control and improved wastewater treatment plant productivity.

WHAT WE DO
Founded in 1999, In-Pipe Technology Company provides engineered wastewater treatment technology and services that meet the escalating challenges facing today's municipalities. In-Pipe's patented technology and engineered solutions help customers achieve environmental compliance, eliminate noxious odors and corrosion, lessen the impact of fats, oils and grease, reduce operating costs and maximize return on capital expenditures. Rather than passively waiting until wastewater arrives at the treatment plant, In-Pipe begins its proven process by treating the wastewater upstream in the far reaches of the sewer system, closer to the source.

HOW IPT WORKS
In-Pipe Technology Company's patented process is a major breakthrough representing a fundamental shift and substantial improvement in the methods and economics of wastewater treatment. In-Pipe begins its proven process by treating wastewater upstream in the far reaches of the sewer system, closer to the source, rather than passively waiting until the wastewater arrives at the treatment plant.

In communities across North America, this innovative approach enables In-Pipe to take full advantage of the natural retention time in the sewer and the immense biofilm in the miles of sewer piping, rapidly and efficiently pretreating the wastewater en-route to the plant.

This pretreatment process of sewer biofilm transformations reduces sewer maintenance requirements and improves treatment plant performance.

HOW WE DO IT
Utilizing sewer examination analysis, hydrology, sewer biology transformations, and plant performance analysis, In-Pipe is able to engineer a uniquely tailored treatment solution that targets each municipality's most critical operating issues.

The IPT process consists of continual addition twenty four hours per day, seven days per week (24/7) of high concentrations of select, facultative, symbiotic, spore-forming, naturally-occurring, non-pathogenic bacteria. These bacterial formulations work with or without oxygen (aerobic or anaerobic metabolism), and are introduced into the wastewater using unobtrusive, intrinsically safe, dosing stations. These stations are strategically located throughout a community's sewer collection system.

IPT's natural process fully maximizes the potential of biofilm microbiology to generate a fundamental change in the nature, physical structure and biological activity within the biofilm growing inside the collection system piping. This change eliminates the negative metabolic impacts and harmful by-products of the old bacterial community, while increasing and improving the biological treatment within the sewer.

The biological principle of "competitive exclusion" is fundamental to the IPT process and its numerous, documented benefits. The IPT bacteria out compete the indigenous, damaging bacteria for nutrients and food, with the beneficial IPT bacteria ultimately dominating the wastewater and sewer biofilm.

This change in the biofilm vastly improves the wastewater treatment process by sharply reducing noxious and corrosive gas production, decreasing plant influent TSS and TKN, increasing plant influent biodegradability, and improving the plant microcosm providing for more efficient treatment within the plant.

Only In-Pipe has the know-how to kick-start these positive biological changes in the collection system, producing treatment benefits that are impossible to economically achieve by any other means. The IPT process creates a more efficient biological community in the collection system and throughout the treatment plant.

AS A RESULT, IPT PERFECTLY COMPLEMENTS EXISTING PLANT PROCESSES AND EMERGING TRENDS WITHIN THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT INDUSTRY, SUCH AS:

Biological Nutrient Removal In-Pipe reduces influent nitrogen load and increases the biodegradability of the wastewater, improving BNR treatment plant efficiency.

Biosolids Management In-Pipe reduces overall sludge yield and improves the digestion process.

Wastewater Recycling In-Pipe's pre-treatment of wastewater produces a cleaner effluent for post-treatment water recycling.

Energy Usage In-Pipe reduces plant energy consumption by reducing influent pollutant load. In-Pipe increases oxygen uptake rates, thereby improving wastewater oxygenation efficiency.

Ultraviolet Disinfection UV In-Pipe's pre-treatment of wastewater produces a cleaner effluent for disinfection, reducing UV fouling potential and energy usage.

Privatization It is estimated that In-Pipe will reduce costs by as much as 40 percent, making it even more appealing as a solution to cash-strapped municipalities.
